Sunday beat more weather records, this week will remain warm
More warm weather records tumbled at the weekend, with the temperature tipping 26.6 degrees in Maastricht on Sunday.
The temperature reached 23.8 degrees at the De Bilt weather station near Hilversum, where official records are established. That is 0.1 of a degree warmer than the previous record for September 25, set in 1956.
Sunday’s record was the seventh weather record to be broken this year, all but one of which involve record high temperatures, news agency ANP said.
This week it will remain warm for the time of year, with temperatures hovering around 20 to 22 degrees. Tuesday is set to be the best day of the week, with blue skies and sunshine nationwide.
