Eight people were arrested at the Ajax-Standard Luik European League match in Amsterdam Arena on Thursday night, reports NU.nl.

The police said there was trouble from the start, with rival supporters attacking each other and the Belgian Standard Liege fans throwing bottles, stones and fireworks at officers.

Shortly after the match, a fire started in a set of toilets, and fireworks were thrown. Some police will require hearing tests to check for damage from the explosions, and they are investigating who threw the flares. The area under the troublemakers was evacuated for safety reasons.
