The astronomical autumn begins on Thursday with a warm day with sunny spells but by Friday the wind will pick up and leaves will start to fall, weather bureau Weerplaza said on Wednesday.
However, the chilly mornings – it was as low as 10 degrees on Wednesday – show that autumn is in the air, the weather bureau said.
On Thursday morning it will also feel cool, but the temperature will rise to up to 22 degrees in the afternoon. There could be some light showers later in the evening.
Although the wind will pick up at the weekend, it will remain dry and warm with sunny spells until Sunday evening, when there could be heavy showers.
