Schiedam cellar fire claims victims aged 18 and four
An 18-year-old youth and four-year-old boy have been killed in an explosion in a cellar storage area at an apartment block in Schiedam near Rotterdam.
Two other men, both aged 25, were seriously injured in the blast and subsequent fire, which happened on Friday evening.
They are thought to have been working on a motorbike in the confined space when something caused the petrol fumes to ignite.
Both the child and teenager died of their injuries in hospital.
