German police have issued a warning about allegedly dangerous practices at an alternative cancer clinic in Bracht, just over the border with Limburg, the Brabants Dagblad reports.

43 year-old Joke van der Kolk from Wijk en Aalburg who suffered from breast cancer is thought to have died there under ‘suspicious circumstances’.

Two other patients, 55 year old Leentje Callens from Belgium and unknown victim also died at the clinic, the paper writes. According to Callen’s partner the three women were undergoing a ten week alternative treatment.

The clinic’s director, Klaus Ross, denies any wrongdoing and said he would cooperate with police enquiries. ‘Alternative medicine is complementary. We always advise our patients to explore regular treatment first,’ Ross said.
