Max and Simba are favourite names for Dutch dogs and cats

July 11, 2016

dogsMax has overtaken Luna to become the most popular name for Dutch dogs, while Simba has pushed out Luna to lead the cat’s list, according to research by the Netherlands’ biggest pet insurer.

In 2015, Luna topped the list for dogs and cats but has now disappeared from the top five for both popular pets, the Proteq Dier & Zorg research, quoted by RTL news, said.

Pip, Bella, Diesel and Lola make up the top five for dogs, while Tommy, Boris, Max and Gizmo complete the cat line up.

The Dutch have some 2.9 million cats and 1.5 million dogs.
