Dutch hospitality sector sales are up 24% on crisis low
Dutch hotels, restaurants and cafes booked record sales in the first quarter of 2016 and the total is now 24% up on the worst point in the economic crisis, the national statistics office CBS said on Tuesday.
In the EU as a whole, sales are up 20% when compared with the end of 2009, the CBS said.
Some 374,000 people now work in the hospitality sector, or 4.3% of the total workforce. This is below the EU average of 4.8%.
