Roads closed in the south as heavy rains wash down mud and rocks
Five roads in Noord-Brabant and Limburg have been closed following Wednesday night’s heavy storms because they are no longer safe to use, broadcaster Nos said.
The A73 and A74 have both been closed after parts of their embankments washed down onto the road, bringing torrents of mud and rocks.
The ANWB motoring organisation said the A74 between the Dutch border and the Tiglia junction is worst affected and is likely to be closed all day. ‘There is enough sand to fill a lorry,’ a spokesman said.
