One in five Dutch children don’t live with their father
Almost one in five children in the Netherlands do not grow up in the same household as their father, according to new figures from national statistics office CBS.
Twenty years ago, 13% of children under the age of 16 did not live with their fathers. The CBS puts the increase down to rising divorce rates.
Some 80% of children hit by divorce share their time between both parents, while just 2% live with their fathers only.
