Dutch women lose hockey Champions Trophy to Argentina
The Dutch women’s hockey team lost the final of the Champions Trophy 2-1 to Argentina on Sunday.
The Dutch women were without Maartje Paumen, who is injured, and had reached the London final without losing a match. Defending champions Argentina have now won the title seven times, the Netherlands six.
The international hockey calendar is currently being reformed and the six-country Champions Trophy competition is to be replaced by a global hockey league.
The final women’s Champions Trophy takes place in Argentina in 2018. The men’s event will be hosted by Amstelveen.
