Disappointed Adele fans spend hundreds of euros on fake tickets
A 19-year-old man from Hoorn has been arrested for selling fake tickets for Adele’s concert series in Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome.
The man had placed an advert for tickets on online auction house Marktplats and is thought to have conned at least 20 people out of €500 each, police said at the weekend.
The fake tickets were almost identical to the real thing but were identified at the entrance to the concert hall because the bar codes had been tampered with.
In total, police received 239 complaints about fake tickets to see Adele, netting the crooks some €76,000. On Thursday, at least 50 fans were left disappointed because their tickets were fake.
Adele’s last Amsterdam concert is on Monday night.
