‘Dick Advocaat returns to Oranje as assistant coach’
Dick Advocaat has been appointed assistant coach to the Dutch national football team and will work alongside current head coach Danny Blind next season, the Telegraaf says on Thursday.
Blind is currently assisted by former internationals Marco van Basten and Ruud van Nistelrooij, but Van Nistelrooij is standing down after the next friendlies against Ireland, Poland and Austria.
Advocaat has twice been assistant and twice coach to Oranje, the last time between 2002 and 2004. Advocaat has been advising Feyenoord this season after completing a one-year contract at English side Sunderland.
The appointment has not yet been confirmed by the KNVB.
