Mineral water soars 30% in price, wine just 8%
The price of soft drinks has risen an average 17% over the past five years due to higher taxes but alcoholic drinks have only gone up 10% in price, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.
However, top of the big increases is mineral water, which is now 30% more expensive than it was five years ago. At least half of the increase is due to taxes, the CBS said.
The price of beer has risen 12% and wine and spirits 10% and 8% respectively.
