Dutch beat England in football friendly, Wembley honours Cruijff
The Netherlands beat England 2-1 in their pre-European championship friendly at Wembley Stadium in London on Tuesday night.
England opened the scoring but Oranje equalised when Vincent Janssen, on his first international appearance, blasted in a penalty following a Danny Rose handball. Substitute Luciano Narsingh made it two, giving England their first home defeat since November 2013.
Fourteen minutes into the game, play was halted to honour Dutch football legend Johan Cruijff. Cruijff won the European Cup with Ajax at Wembley in 1971 and played in two internationals against England at the London ground.
