Spectre is biggest Dutch box office hit as cinema visits soar
More than two million cinema-goers in the Netherlands have seen the latest James Bond film Spectre, making it the biggest box office draw of 2015, the Dutch cinema association said on Tuesday.
The total number of cinema tickets bought last year was over 32 million, 7% up on 2014 and the highest total in several decades, the NVF said.
The NVF sees two reasons for the rise: an increase in the number of cinemas and a large number of big box office draws. There are now 893 cinemas in the Netherlands, up 34 on a year ago.
The top rated Dutch language film was Gooische Vrouwen 2 which was released in 2014.
