It’s set to be a chilly weekend with sleet possible in south
The air temperature will drop to close to freezing point this weekend and there may be sleet in southern parts of the country, weather website Weeronline says on Friday.
The maximum temperature will be no higher than six degrees but it will feel colder in the fresh North Sea winds, the website says. There may also be thunder and hail in coastal areas.
The chilly temperatures will continue next week, with light frost possible in many places on Sunday night. The rest of the week will remain chilly with showers.
The autumn so far has been unseasonably warm.
