Second Dutch football club may get Chinese investors
A second Dutch football club could go Chinese, now a Beijing investment company is considering investing heavily in Heerenveen.
The Beijing Succesful Investment Management company is considering putting up to €35m into the premier division football club, local paper Leeuwarder Courant says on Wednesday.
The company is also interested in becoming a main sponsor of the Frisian club, the paper says.
The club itself is divided about the Chinese approach. Current chairman Jelko van der Wiel who is poised to lose his job, is not a supporter of Chinese involvement and this has brought talks to a standstill, the paper says.
The Hague football club ADO Den Haag is also in Chinese hands.
