boys and girls studying in universityNearly one in ten people working in education was bullied in 2014, according to figures released on Thursday by the central statistics agency CBS.

Most of the bullying came from pupils, the CBS said. And one in five workers in education was intimidated or faced physical violence from pupils or their parents.

The CBS differentiates between bullying by colleagues and bullying by external relations and clients.

Bullying by colleagues is most pronounced at water companies, in waste management companies and in industry. Last year over 10% of workers in those sectors said they were bullied by colleagues.

Not far behind are publishers and the media (9.5%), transport (9.4%), and cafes and restaurants (9.4%), the CBS said.

According to a spokesman, the number of cases of bullying in all sectors has remained stable for years.
