Police investigate threats made against murdered nurse

Cordon tape from policeThe police have launched an internal investigation into the numerous reports a nurse made about threats from her ex boyfriend.

The nurse was shot dead in front of the hospital where she worked in Waalwijk on Monday and police admitted on Tuesday she had made complaints about being threatened.

‘We are meeting on Wednesday to discuss the issue and want to find out if something went wrong,’ a spokesman told news agency ANP. ‘Once the investigation has been completed, we will make a statement.’

The man suspected of shooting the nurse reported to the police on Tuesday afternoon, broadcaster RTL news said. Police have not confirmed he is her ex boyfriend but did say he was known to the victim.
