The KNMI weather bureau issued a code orange weather warning for the south of the country on Monday afternoon, saying a second band of heavy thunderstorms would hit Limburg, Noord-Brabant and Gelderland.
A code yellow warning applies to the rest of the country, the KNMI said.
Heavy rain in the early hours of Monday morning caused heavy traffic on some roads and led to localised flooding.
The ANWB motoring organisation is warning drivers to be particularly careful during Monday evening’s rush hour.
