Luna is favourite Dutch name for dogs and cats
Luna is the most popular name for both Dutch dogs and cats, according to new research by pet insurance company Proteq Dier & Zorg.
Tigertje (little tiger), which used to be the cat-owners’ favourite, has now slumped to fifth place. Lola, Simba and Tommy complete the top five cat names.
Max continues to be popular with dog lovers and has been in second place for years, the insurance company said. Senna is a newcomer in third place, followed by Bo and Diesel.
The Dutch have some 2.9 million cats and 1.5 million dogs.
