Ivo van Hove on Broadway with The Crucible
Dutch theatre director Ivo van Hove is to direct a Broadway production of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible next April, the Volkskrant reports.
It will be the third New York production for the leader of the Amsterdam theatre company Toneelgroep Amsterdam.
The production, which marks the 100th anniversary of Miller’s birth, will star Saoirse Ronan, known for the films Atonement and The Lovely Bones, and Ben Whishaw (Skyfall, Perfume).
Van Hove’s highly-praised production of Miller’s A View from the Bridge for the Young Vic transfers to New York in October, to be followed in December by the musical production Lazarus, with old and new music by David Bowie and a starring role for Michael C Hall (Dexter).
