Wehkamp sale to British investor confirmed

The sale of Dutch mail order company Wehkamp to British investor Apax was confirmed on Monday.

No financial details were given but the Financieele Dagblad  said last week it was worth €450m.

Wehkamp, which has developed into an online retailer, is currently owned by RFS Holland Holding, which also owns online gift retailer Fonq and Lacent, which manages financial products for Wehkamp. All three RFS companies are included in the sale.

Last year Wehkamp booked a rise in turnover of 12% to €546m. Total RFS turnover was €711.3m. Profit reached €46m.
