Strong winds set to hit coastal areas on Saturday
The KNMI weather bureau has issued a code yellow weather warning for northern and western parts of the Netherlands on Saturday, saying very strong winds are set to hit coastal areas.
The gusting winds are also likely to have an impact on traffic and drivers towing caravans to holiday destinations are being warned to be especially careful by travel information service VID.
Winds of up to 90 kph are expected in the west of the country and there will be very heavy rain at times, the KNMI said. The wind will drop in the evening.
The wet weather will continue on Sunday and into next week, with temperatures around 20 degrees.
