Dutch travel firm TUI cancels Tunisian trips up to 2016
Dutch travel company TUI Nederland has cancelled all holidays to Tunisia until February 2016 at least because of the security situation in the country.
Brands Holland International, Arke and Kras also fall under the TUI label. People who have already booked a holiday in Tunisia can rebook to a different destination or ask for their money back, the company said on Tuesday.
The Dutch foreign ministry has advised against all but essential travel to the north African country in the wake of the beach shootings a month ago. In total 39 people died when a gunman opened fire on holidaymakers on the beach near Sousse.
The Tunisian economy relies heavily on tourism and the sector employs some 340,000 people, news agency ANP said.
