DIY stores Praxis, Formido get green light for sale
The Maxeda DIY group has been given permission by the European Commission to sell its DIY stores Praxis and Formido.
The sale, announced in June, will see the DIY chains taken over by French investors Ardian and the US Goldentree Asset Management.
The DIY stores are the last to be divested. Other companies in the Maxeda group, such as Hema, V&D and the Bijenkorf department stores, have already been sold.
The Maxeda DIY Group stems from Maxeda, the name given to Dutch retail group Vendex-KBB when it was bought by private equity some 10 years ago.
Maxeda DIY has a turnover of around €1.3bn and is market leader in the Benelux.
