Dijsselbloem under fire after Greek no vote
Dutch finance minister and leader of the EU euro group Jeroen Dijsselbloem came under fire on Monday following the Greek no vote on Sunday.
‘He has failed completely and should leave his post as euro group leader,’ Socialist Party leader Emile Roemer told RTL News.
Roemer said democracy had won in Greece. ‘They have voted for less austerity which means there must be new negotiations with Brussels,’ he said. ‘It seems clear to me that Dijsselbloem cannot lead those negotiations.’
The SP leader says Dijsselbloem put far too much pressure on the Greek people, telling them they must vote yes. ‘With his stance it would be impossible for him to continue in the job.’
