Mauritshuis attracts record number of visitors
The refurbished Mauritshuis in The Hague attracted a record number of visitors in the year since it reopened.
Since June last year, 600,000 people have visited the museum, the Mauritshuis says on its website.
Before the refurbishment it attracted an average 230,000 visitors a year.
According to an analysis by Deloitte, the Maurithuis contributes an annual €23.7m to the Dutch economy and 626 jobs. The record visitor numbers over the past year added a further €8.6m and a further 228 jobs.
The museum was closed for two years during the refurbishment.
