Four Dutch and two British nationals have been arrested for using second-hand ambulances to smuggle drugs into Britain.
In total, six people were arrested in Birmingham on Tuesday, following an investigation by Dutch police lasting several months.
Police found 270 kilos of cocaine, heroin and other drugs hidden in the walls and floor of the ambulance which had been driven over by two men dressed as paramedics. According to Dutch police, the haul has a street value of €10m but the BBC put it far higher.
The four Dutch men, aged 20 to 55 were remanded in custody in Britain by a court on Thursday.
At the same time, Dutch police carried out raids in Hoofddorp and Zwanenburg and found a further 10 ambulances in storage. They have been taken away for forensic investigation.
