ABN Amro privatisation date could be set on Friday
The Dutch cabinet is expected to finalise its approach to privatising ABN Amro on Friday, news agency Bloomberg said on Thursday, quoting ‘insiders’.
Bloomberg said a decision about the privatisation process is imminent, two months after it was delayed following a dispute over pay rises for senior bankers.
The government plans to list ABN Amro, which it nationalised in 2008, on the stock exchange in stages. The first bundle of shares could be sold this autumn, broadcaster Nos said.
The finance ministry declined to comment.
