Friday will be first official ‘warm’ day, say weather forecasters
The sun has been out throughout the Netherlands on Thursday, but Friday will be the first official ‘warm’ day of the year, weather forecasters say.
Despite a misty start, the temperature will rise to 20 Celsius in central parts of the Netherlands, and up to 21 Celsius in the south.
The first official warm day is usually in April, but last year was on March 20.
People who suffer from hay fever may also have trouble with birch tree pollen, news agency ANP says.
Friday will be a one-off, however. The chilly wind will pick up again at the weekend and it will be overcast much of the time. The temperature is likely to increase again towards the end of next week.
