The new underground Delft station has been open for one day but there are already technical problems, local broadcaster Omroep West said.
If trains drive through the tunnel at the maximum speed, the air pressure is so high that the glass revolving doors into the main hall turn too quickly, the broadcaster said.
A spokesman for track operator ProRail confirmed there is a problem with the doors and said they are being adapted so the air pressure has less effect. The tunnel has been designed to take trains travelling at up to 140 kph but this has now been lowered to 80 kph.
‘There are always things which turn out differently once they have been put into practice in projects like these,’ a spokesman told the broadcaster.
The underground station opened on Saturday. The cost of the entire project to revamp the station area and put the track under ground is put at €1bn.
