Dutch organic food exports rise 11%, near €1bn

eggsDutch organic food exports rose 11% last year to €928m, according to junior economic affairs minister Sharon Dijksma.

In total, over 3,600 Dutch businesses are involved in organic food exports, Dijksma said at an organic food fair in Germany.

Germany, Belgium and France are the top three export destinations. In terms of products, eggs top the list, followed by carrots, tomatoes, cheese and pork.

The largest increase was in export sales of organic greenhouse vegetables, which rose from €43m to €50m, Dijksma said.
