Strong winds return to the Netherlands and it will be frosty next week
Strong, blustery winds returned to the Netherlands again on Thursday and the KNMI weather bureau issued a code yellow warning for the west and north of the country.
Traffic information service VID is warning drivers to be careful on the roads because of the gusts. According to website Weeronline, winds of over 90 kph have been recorded on the west coast and over the Wadden Sea area.
There has been some disruption on the roads because of the strong winds after lorries got into trouble. Train services between Eindhoven and Deurne were halted after a tree fell on the track, railway company NS said.
According to the Telegraaf, the Netherlands will be hit by frost and possibly snow next week and the temperature will drop from the coming weekend. There will be moderate frost at night and it will remain below or around freezing point during the day, the paper says.
