Strong winds cause little damage
The strong winds which hit the Netherlands on Friday morning caused little damage and the emergency services only received 103 phone calls about wind and water problems, news agency ANP says.
Most reports were made in the north of the country. Several roads were closed for a time after lorries were blown over in the gale and train services between Weert and Sittard were disrupted after a tree came down on the track.
There were few problems at Schiphol airport and most flights left and landed on time, a spokesman said.
The weather is expected to remain unsettled for the next few days at least, the KNMI weather bureau says.
