The man shot dead in a car in the early hours of Monday morning in Amersfoort was a known criminal who was aware his life was in danger, news agency ANP says on Monday.
Samir Jabli, 38, was shot several times as he sat in the car on the Hendrick de Keyserlaan, ANP says. A burned out car without number plates was found a short while later in Baarn and police are investigating a potential connection.
Jabli’s identity was confirmed by his lawyer, Louis De Leon, who said his client was concerned for his safety and that there had been an previous attempt on his life in January.
