Dutch organisational advice sector doubles in size

The number of organisational advice bureaus in the Netherlands has doubled in the past five years to almost 80,000, according to the sector’s umbrella body ROA.

Last year alone the number of advice bureaus soared by 14,600 or two every hour, the ROA said. Nearly all the growth is due to one-man operated companies.

‘Many people who lose their jobs call themselves organisational advisors… polish up their cvs, brag about experience they don’t have and then deliver shoddy work,’ director Michael van der Velden told ANP.

The ROA has now drawn up a new code of conduct for the sector which will operate as a quality standard.
