NS brings in longer trains for the autumn rush

Dutch railway company NS said on Monday it had increased the length of some trains for the busy autumn period in an effort to reduce overcrowding on popular routes.

In total, capacity is being expanded by 6,000 seats, news agency ANP reports. This means that while 30% of trains are being increased in length, 17% will be made shorter.

Several older trains have also been brought back into service.
