A2 completely blocked; motorists advised to postpone journeys
Motorists are being advised to postpone their journeys along the A2 motorway on Tuesday morning following a serious accident at Beesd which is causing delays of up to 1.5 hours.
A 15-kilometre traffic jam has built up following the accident, and detour routes via the A59 and A27 are also full. ‘There is no way through,’ the transport ministry said.
Six private cars and a lorry were involved in the accident which will take until 10 am to clear. Two people were injured, police say.
The A4 to Amsterdam is also blocked between Leidschendam and Hoogmade following an accident. The road is now open but clearing the traffic jam is causing delays of an hour.
Motorists are being advised to take the A44.
