The Dutch annual rate of inflation rose to 0.9% in June compared with 0.8% in May, the central statistics office CBS said on Thursday.

Much of the increase is due to more expensive clothing, with retailers cutting their prices less than in previous months, the CBS said.

Air fares and holidays were also more expensive.

Calculated according to harmonised EU methods, the Dutch rate is even lower at 0.3%, below the European average of 0.5%.
