Dutch children’s film Mimoun wins international prize
Dutch children’s film Mimoun has won the Prix Jeunesse International – one of the world’ most important television prizes for youth programming.
Mimoun took the award for short fictional film for children up to the age of 12. Last year it was nominated for an Emmy and has been screened at several international film festivals.
The film is the story of 12-year-old Mimoun who grows up in a poor neighbourhood in The Hague. His single mother tries to keep him away from his older criminal brother but the boy ends up in trouble when he tries to impress a girl and needs money.
The film was directed by Tallulah Schwab who is now working on her first feature film, Confetti Harvest.
