Ajax signs partner deal with Chinese telecom group Huawei
Amsterdam football club Ajax, the Arena stadium and Chinese telecom group Huawei have signed a five-year technology partnership.
Huawei will develop a wifi network for the stadium which will ‘create the largest open-access wireless LAN infrastructure in the Netherlands’, the club says on its website.
In return, Huawei will get branding on the pitch perimeter and exposure via the club’s offline and online media. But Huawei will not be a main sponsor, as rumoured, the Financieele Dagblad says.
Huawei has a similar deal with German club Borrusia Dortmund, the FD says.
