The KNMI weather bureau has issued a code yellow weather warning for Monday night, saying thunderstorms and strong winds will cross the country in the early evening.

The storms will die away over night but there will be showers again on Tuesday and the temperature will drop to around 8 Celsius, the KNMI says.

The rest of the week will be mainly dry but much cooler than recent days, at no higher than 12 Celsius in the south.
