Ajax extend away supporter ban for Feyenoord games for three years
Amsterdam football club Ajax has decided to extend a ban on taking supporters to matches at Rotterdam’s Kuip stadium for a further three years, following crowd trouble at Sunday’s KNVB Cup final.
The club says the decision is the result of emergency talks between the city council, police and public prosecution department.
Several hundred fans have also been banned from Sunday’s match between Ajax and Heracles, at which the Amsterdammers hope to prolong their league title for a fourth year.
Sunday’s cup final was disrupted after a group of Ajax supporters threw fireworks on the pitch.
Ajax and Feyenoord fans have been banned from sending supporters to away clashes between the two teams for five years because of crowd trouble.
