Just 143 Romanian nationals and 81 Bulgarians have registered as new arrivals in the Netherlands since visa requirements were scrapped at the beginning of this year, according to foreign ministry figures.

In total, 3,040 new arrivals have registered for a tax number since the start of the year, Nos television reported. Around one third came from Poland, 199 were Belgian and 187 are German nationals.
