Rabobank, Randstad experiment with mortgages for self-employed

An experiment will start in January to help people on flexible and short-term contracts buy their own home.

Rabobank’s Obvion mortgage company, staffing agency Randstad and the home owners’ association VEH are working together on the project.

Some two million people in the Netherlands are self-employed and have flexible or short-term employment contracts.

The pilot will focus on 1,200 people working via Randstad. They will be selected on the basis of their future prospectives and job opportunities as well as their willingness to invest in further education, Nos television said.
