Ajax beat Celtic 1-0 in second Champions League meeting
A second half goal gave Amsterdam football club Ajax a 1-0 home victory over Scottish champions Celtic in the second leg of their Group H tie on Wednesday night.
Lasse Schöne’s goal allowed Ajax to overtake Celtic and move into third place with four points from four matches.
‘Every team still wants to play for second place and it’s all wide open,’ Ajax coach Frank de Boer told website Uefa.com.
‘We have to go to San Siro and we have to play with confidence there. But first we have to play against Barcelona. Any point we can take there is a bonus because we all know how it is to play against them. So it will be an interesting match against Milan, though Celtic still have some chances too – it isn’t decided just yet.’
