Research institute TNO to cut hundreds of jobs as cuts bite

Research institute TNO is to cut ‘hundreds’ of jobs because of its financial situation.

The organisation expects to close this year with a loss and needs to take ‘structural measures’, the website statement said.

Between now and the end of next year, hundreds of jobs will go. Delft-based TNO currently has a workforce of some 3,700.

The institute said it has been hit by the crisis, leading to fewer research orders for some departments and ‘substantially reduced government funding’.
