A20 near Rotterdam is the current traffic jam black spot
Parts of the A20 motorway near Rotterdam topped the traffic jam black list between May and August, according to transport ministry figures.
The Crooswijk and Terbregseplein junctions had the most congestion in the country, overtaking the A50 near Waalbrug, which dropped to second place. The A13 betwen Overschie and Kleinpolderplein was in third place.
Traffic congestion has gone down by 3.6% over the past four months and the amount of time lost to jams has fallen by 1.9 million hours, or 4.3%.
The drop is due to new roads, road-widening schemes and specific efforts on notorious jam black spots, the ministry said.
