Two men have been jailed for 18 and 20 years for killing a 98-year-old woman during a robbery at her home in Heerlen last year.
The two attacked the woman with a taser, beat her and tied her up, causing her to die from her injuries, the court was told. They got away with money and jewellery.
The men admitted the robbery in court but denied using excessive violence. The sentences are in line with the public prosecution department demand.
